My roof was 25+ years old and was damaged significantly by Hurricane Beryl in July 2024. Lost about 80 shingles and called Petrus for an inspection and assessment. With my roof being as old as it was, they did not recommend repairing it and from firsthand experience on my roof, I know how bad of shape it was in. Granules largely missing, brittle shingles, etc.
Caleb, who performed the inspection, provided a detailed proposal including material quantities, photographs and Google Earth imagery. I am in construction, so I reviewed their quantities and found them to be in line with my estimate. Caleb was very helpful and effectively answered all the questions I had, which were numerous.
After identifying that I would not likely benefit from an insurance claim to help cover the cost, and maybe even cause big changes to my future insurance premiums, I decided to pay for a new roof out of pocket. I knew what the cost ranges were per square of roof (100 square foot of roof), so I compared their per square cost to what I knew was the cost range. I also kept in mind that they proposed better than basic materials that I was willing to pay for. I could have likely requested some value based downgrades but I know that what they suggested would give me piece of mind and a solid roof.
After accepting the proposal and going through the contract, I signed up and got on their schedule. Brian, who is the sales manager, was extremely solicitous in going through both the pricing and the contract language to make sure I understood, had all questions answered, and was comfortable with the process. I again had numerous questions which Brian answered clearly and patiently.
They proposed to execute the roof replacement in a single day and were able to show up early to get started with prep work, including setting out debris nets/tarps around the house to minimize wayward debris. I appreciated that they started early so it would be close to complete in a single day. The workers were all respectful to my family, my house/yard, and I. They finished the roof and the vast majority of the cleanup on the day of install.
The next day, they came back for some touch up and inspection in the light of the day. They also finished cleanup, including rolling magnets throughout the yard, raking the yard for small debris, and clearing all the loose granules. They left everything as if they were never there. They left the gutters clean ( which i verified while up on the roof the next day inspecting!) and left the roof itself in perfect shape.
Brian was there the next day as well to conduct a quality control inspection of the roof (which I was invited to join) and the yard for both the work and clean up. Apparently I am the only homeowner who has gone on the roof for the quality control inspection and Brian was happy to have me there.
I would go out of my way to recommend Petrus to family and friends. I have complete piece of mind, which is helped by their 5yr warranty and 1yr follow up inspection. They are upstanding and provided exactly what they told me they would

From the initial consultation with Brian Jones it was smooth sailing! The crew was punctual, respectful in general (Hard to find these days) and worked very quickly to get the job done in one day.

A neighbor recommended Petrus Roofing. They did a roof inspection a couple of months ago for me and gave me some suggestions on what I (homeowner) could do as well as prices if I wanted them to do it. After Hurricane Beryl, it seemed like everyone and their brother was a roofing expert. We ultimately wanted to go with a company that we felt comfortable with, and we are glad we did. The work was done right, not quickly (even though it didn't take as long as we originally thought). We are very pleased with our new roof.
