Navigating Insurance
Petrus keeps you sane and steady when dealing with the frustrations of insurance claims. Petrus only advocates for a storm damage claim when we are convinced such a claim is ethically necessary.
1. Storm Damage Inspection and Claim
- Our free inspection will documents storm damage
- You file with your agent
- Your agent schedules their company’s adjuster to inspect
2. Insurance Adjuster Inspection
- In 1-2 weeks their adjuster will come for an inspection.
- We are present with you and the adjuster for inspection
- They approve replacement
- or we move to step 3
3. Your Claim was Denied? Now What?
- Insurance companies often deny 1st inspection by default
- This is typical so don’t worry!
- We’ll walk you through their reasons
- Key is trust and persistence
4. You File for a Second Inspection
- Petrus will help you compose a request for another inspection
- Companies usually agree to claim for a full replacement
- Or they may offer to pay for repairs, not replacement
4. Request a Repairability Test
- Petrus will request a “Repairability Test”
- Attempt to repair shingles without further damage
- If your roof fails the test, your insurance company will determine that “the roof is not repairable”
- They will agree to replace the entire roof, minus your deductible
5. Using a Public Adjuster to Prove the Claim
- If they still deny the claim, we will involve a Public Adjuster
- Public Adjuster does an on-site inspection with insurance field adjuster
- Using a Public Adjuster may add 30-50 days in the claim process, however, they are very successful in helping homeowners
- Public Adjuster fee is covered by Petrus Roofing
6. Homeowner Uses Chad Wilson Law Firm
- They may still refuse to replace your roof no matter how clear the damage, even after the use of a Public Adjuster
- We will advise you to contact the Chad Wilson Law Firm
