Defend yourself from summer cooling costs by making sure your attic is air sealed and you have the right amount of insulation. Air leaks from your home into the 150 degree attic is the number one culprit of high energy costs. Every spot where a wall meets your attic floor needs to be sealed, and the chimney and any HVAC duct chases.
Deal with all issues with your attic insulation. If it's been over 20 years, get all the old stuff vacuumed out and new insulation blown in. This will result in substantial savings before you go solar!
